15 New Initiatives Announced for Overseas Pakistanis

Shehbaz Sharif launched an incentive package for Pakistanis living abroad on his final day in office to give them better services and support.

Shehbaz wrote on Twitter that this package intends to improve their relationship with Pakistan and make dealings with various organisations easier.

Here are all the programmes for Pakistanis living abroad.

  • Hotlines will be established under the Chief Secretaries in each province and the Chief Commissioner in Islamabad to address property issues of Overseas Pakistanis.
  • In order to hasten the adjudication of property disputes for Overseas Pakistanis, specialised courts will be established in ICT and all of Pakistan’s provinces.
  • In all public housing programmes, a 10% quota will be reserved for overseas Pakistanis, who will also receive a 5% discount if they pay with foreign currency and through a banking channel.
  • All other provinces will adopt the effective Punjab Overseas Pakistanis Commission (POPC) model.
  • At each international airport in the nation, specialised immigration counters would be set up to assist and recognise Pakistanis living abroad.
  • Based on information gathered by the State Bank of Pakistan, awards will be given to the Top Ten remitters among Pakistanis living abroad.
