Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has opened up about a shift in his career priorities, revealing why he is gradually stepping back from acting to focus more on film production.
Speaking during an interactive session in New Delhi, the 60-year-old actor said that while acting remains close to his heart, it is not possible for him to star in every film. Aamir, who rose to fame with Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, shared that he is now being far more selective about the roles he chooses.
“Although I enjoy acting more, I can’t do every film on my own,” he said. Aamir added that he is currently listening to scripts carefully and will decide his next acting project only after finding a story that truly excites him. He noted that one of his films was released this year and that several interesting stories are currently under consideration.
At the same time, Aamir highlighted the satisfaction he finds in producing films, saying that production brings its own unique excitement. He confirmed that Aamir Khan Productions has a busy lineup planned for the coming year, with multiple projects already in development.
Among the upcoming films under his banner is Happy Patel, starring Vir Das and Mona Singh, which is scheduled for release in January. Another major project is Lahore 1947, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and featuring a star-studded cast including Sunny Deol, Karan Deol, Preity Zinta, Shilpa Shetty, Vicky Kaushal, and Ali Fazal.
Aamir Khan’s comments reflect his growing focus on backing strong stories as a producer, while continuing to act selectively in films that resonate deeply with him.
