Pakistan’s fast bowling lineup sees a change as Abbas Afridi has been named in the T20 International squad to replace Mohammad Wasim Jr, who is sidelined due to injury.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced that Wasim Jr sustained a side strain while playing in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). As a result, he won’t be available for the upcoming T20 series against Bangladesh starting tomorrow in Lahore.
Earlier reports indicated that Wasim Jr’s injury was serious enough to cast doubt on his participation. Medical experts have recommended a week of rest, followed by rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) to support his full recovery.
With Afridi stepping in, Pakistan aims to maintain a strong bowling attack as they prepare to host Bangladesh in the much-anticipated series.
