Actress Humaira Asghar’s parents have spoken out after her untimely death, denying rumors that they disowned her and casting doubt on the circumstances surrounding her passing.
Humaira’s mother and father, Dr. Asghar, denied media rumors that they had abandoned their daughter in death during appearances with local television stations. They also denied rumors that she had been struggling financially when she passed away.
“That we declined to collect her body is not accurate. After the legal procedures were finished, I had sent my son to Karachi to pick it up,” Dr. Asghar stated. After family members got in touch with us, the police notified us. We had to wait because the post-mortem and procedural work were still incomplete.
The body of Humaira Asghar, who had apparently been living alone since 2018, was discovered on July 8, 2025, in a storeroom of her rented apartment. The apartment was situated in Phase IV of DHA. According to preliminary autopsy results, the body was around 10 months old, indicating that she passed away in early October 2024.
Her cause of death and her family’s purported unwillingness to accept her remains were the main topics of considerable media discussion following her death. Now, her father has stated that he believes there was foul play.

Despite their sorrow, Humaira’s parents praised Sindh Police’s handling of the case, saying that officers were doing their jobs in a responsible manner.

“She earned well and was financially stable,” Dr. Asghar stated, refuting rumors that the actress had fallen on hard times. Indeed, we discovered pricey clothing that she had never worn in her room. She could only have missed a rent or utility payment after she passed away.
He went on to say that Humaira cared for impoverished children and was devoted to her work. She never requested her portion of the family’s assets. He said, “She wasn’t the type to say something so trivial.”
