The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) on Saturday dismissed rumours circulating on social media that claimed Afghanistan would not participate in the upcoming tri-nation series featuring Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan.

ACB officials clarified that no such decision has been made regarding the team’s withdrawal, labelling the reports as “completely baseless and misleading.”

“Afghanistan remains fully committed to taking part in the tri-series as per the original schedule,” a board representative confirmed.

Afghanistan currently engaged in Abu Dhabi series

Sources revealed that the Afghanistan national team is presently playing a series against Bangladesh in Abu Dhabi, which is set to conclude before the tri-series begins.

Once the current fixtures wrap up, the team will travel to Pakistan to participate in the competition alongside the hosts and Sri Lanka.

ACB urges fans to verify information

Expressing concern over the spread of unverified claims online, ACB officials urged fans, journalists, and media outlets to rely solely on official board statements for credible updates regarding the team’s schedule and commitments.
