After Mumbai police received a direct threat aimed at Bollywood’s king, Shah Rukh Khan, the actor has been under security alert. Indian media claims that a young man called Faizan, who lives in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, reportedly called the Bandra police station on November 5 at 1:20 PM, seeking INR 5 million in payback. The call originated from Faizan’s phone number, which led law enforcement to react quickly. Since then, a Mumbai Police team has flown to Raipur to probe the threat more closely.

Khan’s security concerns increased after the caller allegedly threatened to harm him if the ransom wasn’t paid. Santosh Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police, Raipur, stated, “We have asked him to appear before the Bandra police in Mumbai for additional questioning by them, and we are still investigating whether his phone was indeed stolen.”
This event comes after Khan was threatened with death in October of last year following the massive success of his movies Jawan and Pathaan. According to NDTV, Mumbai police responded by upgrading his protection to a Y+ category, giving him six armed guards on duty around the clock—a significant improvement over the two-person security detail that had been in place.
Khan is not the only Indian celebrity to face direct threats, which has led to an increase in safety risks for them. Salman Khan also found himself in peril earlier this year when two Bishnoi gang members opened fire on his house. Because of their religious convictions, the gang, a notorious criminal organization from the desert, views blackbucks as sacred. The group has subsequently targeted Salman, who was in legal hot water in 1998 after killing two blackbucks while hunting. Lawrence Bishnoi, the group’s imprisoned leader, has previously threatened the actor, even threatening to kill him because of the hunting incident.
Numerous violent occurrences, like the horrific 2022 murder of well-known Indian musician Sidhu Moose Wala, which Bishnoi purportedly planned, have been connected to this criminal network. The issue of celebrity safety in India has grown more complicated due to repeated attacks on high-profile celebrities, such as the two main Khans of Bollywood. This highlights the importance of taking significant precautions to keep them safe despite constant security threats, fame, and controversy.
