Pakistan’s T20I captain Salman Ali Agha boycotted the post-match ceremony after the Indian team refused to shake hands with Pakistani players following their recent clash. The move has sparked fresh controversy between the two cricketing rivals.

According to reports, Salman Ali Agha also declined to speak with an Indian commentator who was hosting the ceremony. Sources said that the captain would have taken part if the presenter had been from Pakistan.

Pakistan’s head coach Mike Hesson backed his captain’s decision, calling the Indian team’s actions unsportsmanlike. He confirmed that the skipper deliberately stayed away from the presentation as a form of protest against the behaviour of the opposition.

The Pakistan team management has formally complained to the match referee about the incident. Officials argue that refusing the customary handshake goes against the spirit of cricket and sets a negative example for fans around the world.

The incident has further strained cricketing ties between the two nations, who rarely play bilateral series due to long-standing political tensions. With both teams under the spotlight, the controversy is expected to add heat to their upcoming fixtures.
