Alexander Road Estimated to Have a Budget of Rs 600 Million
Islamabad: It would cost approximately Rs600 million to build a 7-km Alexander Road that passes through the Margalla Hills and connects Islamabad to the Haripur district of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhawa (KP) province.
Details show that this road project, which would take four months to complete, will be funded by a substantial rural development package totaling Rs 20 billion.

The municipal group would construct this route inside Islamabad’s administrative boundaries; it would have a terminus not far from the Kenthla well at the border between Islamabad and Haripur.
The KP province would construct the remaining portion, and eventually, both highways would be connected to form the shortest access point from the capital city.
Because the ancient Buddha Caves are close and this route is now in bad condition, expanding and rebuilding it will surely help increase tourism in the Shah Allah Ditta area.
For local and foreign visitors, parking spaces are also expected to be constructed on Alexander Road. A park will be created along the path so visitors can pause for a while and take in the alluring view.
Environmentalists also raise concerns concerning the construction of this route. They claim that the ecosystem has already suffered due to increased construction activities.
A spokesman said we are working on a rural development plan to benefit 36 communities with a combined population of almost 200,000.
This list will also contain the following locations: the Muslim Colony (Bari Imam), Nur Pur Shahan, Malpur, Shahdara, Mandla, Kot Hathial, Bani Gala, Lakhawal, Phul Garan, Ghora Baz, Tumair, and Lehtrar Road. He also stated that the project could begin in the following two months if the final paperwork is completed for Alexander Road.
