According to a senior adviser to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, recent US airstrikes have not impacted Iran’s enriched uranium stockpile or its wider nuclear capabilities.

On the social media site X, Ali Shamkhani, the secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, claimed that the United States had not been successful in its attempt to thwart Tehran’s nuclear program.

“Despite the attacks on our nuclear facilities, our enriched uranium is safe,” he said. “The game continues even if the installations themselves sustain damage. The political will, the knowledge, and the material will all be preserved.

Shamkhani said that Iran has “expertise, material, and intention,” the three cornerstones of a strong nuclear program, and that any additional aggression would be faced with appropriate retaliation. He wrote, “It is impossible to eradicate Iran’s nuclear capability.” “The side that behaves sensibly and refrains from indiscriminate bombardment now has the true advantage. We’ll keep doing unexpected things.

The comments follow coordinated US airstrikes on military and nuclear-related targets in Isfahan, Natanz, and Fordow, which have escalated regional tensions.

Washington has defended the strikes by claiming they are a preventative move to stop Iran’s purported nuclear weapons development operations, a claim Tehran strongly disputes.
