Days of heavy rain have left Karachi schools in confusion over reopening. While most private institutions have switched to online classes, the Sindh Education Department has yet to decide whether government schools will reopen on Friday.

Private schools go online
Several private schools announced that they will continue classes online on Friday, citing flooded roads, damaged infrastructure, and safety concerns. Jinnah Sindh Medical University has also suspended on-campus teaching, moving all classes online.

Government schools await clarity
The Sindh Education Department is still undecided on reopening government schools. Just a day earlier, it had declared Thursday a holiday for all schools and colleges, both public and private, due to ongoing rainfall and waterlogging.

Rain continues
Light to moderate showers were reported in areas including Gulshan-e-Hadeed, Quaidabad, Malir, Model Colony, Nazimabad, Shah Latif Town, North Nazimabad, SITE Area, and Tower, bringing pleasant weather but also increasing the risk of urban flooding.

The Meteorological Department has forecast more thunder and heavy rain, warning of flooding in low-lying areas. Authorities remain on alert, while residents are advised to take precautions.
