Renowned filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has shared his views on the long-running discussion about the reign of the three Khans of Bollywood. During a recent conversation with film critic Komal Nahta, Kashyap openly compared Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Aamir Khan in terms of popularity and work style.
According to Kashyap, Shah Rukh Khan stands at the top when it comes to popularity. He said that Salman Khan comes next, while Aamir Khan, despite being third in popularity, is the most hardworking and calculating among the three. His remarks quickly started discussions among fans, many of whom agreed that Shah Rukh’s global fan base remains unmatched.
Even though Anurag Kashyap praised all three actors, he has never directed a film featuring any of them. His filmmaking style is known for being bold, realistic, and different from mainstream Bollywood, which is likely why collaborations have not happened so far. However, his brother Abhinav Kashyap did work with Salman Khan on the hit film Dabangg, though the project later led to personal conflict between the brothers.
Meanwhile, the three Khans appeared together at Joy Forum 2025 in Riyadh, where they hinted at the possibility of working on a project together. While no official announcement has been made, the idea of Shah Rukh, Salman, and Aamir sharing screen space has created excitement among audiences. If confirmed, the project would be a historic moment, bringing Bollywood’s biggest stars together after more than 30 years in the industry.
