Apple CEO Tim Cook has confirmed that a new and more advanced version of Siri will be released next year, marking a major step forward in Apple’s ongoing artificial intelligence strategy. The announcement was made during the company’s quarterly earnings call, where Cook stated that development is progressing as planned.
According to Cook, the upgraded Siri will deliver a more personalized and intelligent user experience. The updated voice assistant is expected to become a central part of the company’s “Apple Intelligence” ecosystem and is projected to launch alongside iOS 26.4.
The statement also serves as reassurance for users and investors, especially after previous concerns about slow progress on Apple’s AI roadmap. Reports earlier suggested that internal testers were not fully satisfied with Siri’s performance in early builds of iOS 26.4. Despite this, Apple appears confident that the improved assistant will be ready next year.
Cook highlighted that Apple’s AI features focus strongly on privacy and on-device processing, rather than cloud-based models. This approach is aimed at ensuring user data remains secure while delivering faster and more responsive AI features.
In recent months, Apple has introduced a range of AI-powered tools, including Live Translation for instant language support, Visual Intelligence for image-based learning, and a new Workout Buddy feature on Apple Watch that gives tailored fitness motivation.
Developers are expected to get early access to the new Siri through upcoming betas of iOS 26.4, before it becomes available to all users later next year. The upgraded Siri is expected to offer better natural conversation abilities, improved task management, and deeper integration across iPhone, Mac, and Apple Watch.
With this update, Apple aims to strengthen its AI ecosystem and compete more directly with other major tech companies that are rapidly advancing in the AI space.
