After permitting four prisoners to leave a holding cell to attend his wedding, an Argentine police officer was found guilty on Monday of abusing his position of authority.
According to local media, the event happened last year when the officer let the men go from custody so they could go to and from a wedding location that was roughly a block away from the police station.
According to reports, one of the prisoners cooked the lamb for the occasion. What charges the individuals were facing and whether they had been found guilty are still unknown.
According to El Diario de La Pampa, the men willingly went back to their holding cell after the reception.
Prosecutor Guillermo Sancho stated, “He was lucky none of them escaped.”
For abusing his position, the officer was given a 15-month suspended prison sentence.
