The Pakistan Army has launched a large-scale relief operation in Tero, a remote village in Phander tehsil of Gilgit-Baltistan, on the special instructions of Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Gen Syed Asim Munir.
A field hospital has been established to address urgent healthcare needs after floodwaters cut off road access, leaving locals without medical support. According to military officials, a specialist medical team — including a paediatrician, gynaecologist, medical specialist, and general duty medical officer — has been deployed to the area.
Doctors have already begun examining patients, prescribing medicines, and are staying on site to provide 24/7 medical services. Four critically injured residents were airlifted by helicopter to hospitals for immediate treatment.
Alongside medical support, the army has distributed relief supplies such as flour, rice, lentils, clean drinking water, and other essential food items to affected families.
Officials confirmed that the relief and rehabilitation mission will continue until the community fully recovers from the disaster.
