In relation to a diplomatic passport case, a local court in Islamabad has issued an arrest warrant for former Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas.
Additionally, the court denied his request for a personal presence exemption.
Tanveer Ilyas’s request for an exemption from attendance was denied by the District and Sessions Court judge, who also ordered the police to make sure he was arrested and brought before the court.
A case has already been filed by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) against the former premier of AJK for allegedly abusing a diplomatic passport.
The FIA has been instructed to give a progress report on the execution of the arrest warrant, and the court has postponed further hearings in the case until November 24.
