Arshad Nadeem’s Recovery on Track Ahead of 2024 Paris Olympics
Arshad Nadeem, the top javelin thrower in Pakistan, will miss the National Championship in January due to a right knee injury.
Arshad is getting ready for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France, according to Nadeem’s coach Salman Butt. Speaking about previous performance, Arshad placed fifth in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, indicating that this time around an improvement was expected.

Arshad’s right knee ailment also prevented him from competing at the just finished Asian Games in Guangzhou, China.
Nadeem’s coach Salman Butt stated, “He (Nadeem) is taking rest and it’s off-season so that he could refresh himself which is very necessary,” in an interview with a national daily.
Arshad Nadeem is the first javelin thrower from South Asia and the fourth thrower overall to reach the 90-meter mark. With a throw of 90.18 meters, he earned the gold medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England. With a throw of 87.82 meters, he took home the silver medal at the 2023 World Athletics Championship (WAC) in Budapest, Hungary.

He became the first Pakistani to finish on the podium in a WAC event with the aforementioned silver medal.
