Veteran Pakistani actress Atiqa Odho has called for television dramas featuring bold, horror, or mature themes to be moved from the 8 pm slot to a later time, ideally after 10 pm, to ensure they are watched only by adult audiences.

Speaking on a private TV show, Odho joined fellow stars Nadia Khan and Marina Khan in expressing concern over the rising trend of bold content in Pakistani dramas. Nadia Khan highlighted that many shows airing at 8 pm include inappropriate dialogues and scenes unsuitable for children and teenagers, a time when families usually gather to watch television together.

Odho supported the point and noted that recently concluded dramas such as Dhain and Sher contained bold themes, violent sequences, and strong language that are not appropriate for minors. She stressed that such content is meant for adults and should not be shown during prime-time viewing hours.

Traditionally, Pakistani dramas dominate the 7 pm to 9 pm slots, which are considered family-friendly and most widely viewed. However, with bold themes becoming more common, many critics and industry veterans are questioning whether the content is suitable for these time frames.

Atiqa Odho suggested shifting adult-focused dramas to late-night slots, around 10 pm or later, arguing this would allow producers to explore creative freedom while ensuring social responsibility in protecting young viewers.
