With several surprises, Cricket Australia has announced their T20I team for the upcoming series against Pakistan at home. Australia will introduce a new T20I captain, with Josh Inglis, Adam Zampa, and Matt Short all in contention for the role.

Australia’s T20 squad for the series against Pakistan was announced without their key Test players, who chose to focus on the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series against India, scheduled to start soon after the T20s conclude.

Australia’s head coach Andrew McDonald will also be absent for the T20 series against Pakistan, with Andre Borovec stepping in to lead the team. Borovec previously handled head coaching duties during a five-match T20I series against India following last year’s ODI World Cup.
Fast bowlers Xavier Bartlett, Spencer Johnson, and Nathan Ellis have returned to the Australian T20 squad after recovering from injuries they sustained during Australia’s recent tour of the UK.
Pakistan has also revealed their squad for the tour, following Australia’s approach by including numerous young players as they work towards building a team for the future.
