After a horrific school bus bombing in Khuzdar, Balochistan, that killed five people including three children, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has issued an emergency security advisory for all schools across the province.

In response to the escalating threat, the education department, in coordination with district authorities and police, has ordered immediate security audits of school premises, especially in high-risk areas like Peshawar and Dera Ismail Khan.

“We are acting swiftly to protect our students and staff. Safety is our top priority,” said Education Special Secretary Qaiser Alam.

New School Safety Guidelines Include:

  • Mandatory CCTV cameras on all campuses
  • Deployment of trained security guards
  • Strict ID checks at entry points
  • Regular emergency drills and student safety sessions
  • Installation of emergency alert systems

The security move comes after a remotely detonated car bomb struck a school bus near Zero Point on the Karachi-Quetta Highway, in what officials say was a deliberate attack on children.

According to police, the blast was timed to hit peak school traffic. The ISPR blamed foreign proxies, hinting at Indian involvement behind the attack.

Nationwide Impact

The attack has sparked widespread concern over school safety nationwide. Provincial governments in Punjab, Sindh, and Balochistan are now reviewing their own security protocols to prevent similar tragedies.
