The Government of Balochistan has decided to establish a modern Safe City Authority in line with current security and technological needs.
The decision was taken during a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat on Tuesday. The meeting reviewed the progress of ongoing Safe City projects in detail.
Officials briefed the meeting that advanced surveillance cameras will be installed in major cities across the province as part of the initiative.
Chief Minister Bugti directed the concerned departments to immediately remove administrative, technical, and financial hurdles and to accelerate the project’s implementation. He assured that the provincial government would provide the required financial and technical support on a priority basis to ensure timely completion.
The chief minister stated that after Punjab, Balochistan will become the second province in Pakistan to introduce a modern Safe City system. He described the project as a significant milestone for the province.
He added that the Safe City projects are expected to help reduce crime, improve traffic management, strengthen emergency response systems, and enhance coordination among law enforcement agencies across Balochistan.
