Bangladesh Bans Social Media During Ongoing Protests

DHAKA: On Friday, the Bangladesh government set a nationwide ban on major social media and communication platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, WhatsApp, and YouTube. The ban impacts mobile networks across the country, including Facebook and Telegram, on mobile connections. This action follows a series of shutdowns linked to censorship over quota reform protests.
