Banks to Remain Closed in Lahore, Other Districts Due to Smog
Due to smog, banks and microfinance banks (MFBs) would have closed branches on Friday in several areas of Punjab.
It has been decided that all banks/MFBs will keep their branches closed in the Lahore Division (i.e., District Lahore, Nankana Sahib, Sheikhupura, Kasur), District Gujranwala, District Hafizabad, District Sialkot, and District Narowal on Friday (November 10), according to a statement made by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) in response to a notification issued by the Government of Punjab.

It is important to note that, in an effort to lessen the effects of the haze, the caretaker administration of Punjab declared an environmental and health emergency in Lahore and two other divisions from November 9 to November 12.
In order to combat smog, all markets, retail malls, restaurants, movie theaters, gymnasiums, schools, and workplaces (public and commercial) in the Lahore, Gujranwala, and Hafizabad divisions would be closed for four days, from November 9 to November 12.
