The second bear sighting in two months forced the cancellation of the first round of a golf tournament in Japan.

A bear reportedly approached the first tee at the Sendai Classic Golf Club, forcing officials to cancel the planned game, according to reports in international media.

In order to protect players, participants, and staff, the Pro-Am tournament was canceled on Wednesday when a bear was spotted on the course, according to the event’s website.

The Meiji Yasuda Ladies Tournament, which is set for this Friday, will go forward as planned despite the sighting, according to organizers.
