The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has made it clear that, in accordance with Section 25 of the State Bank of Pakistan Act, 1956, all banknotes that the SBP issues, including commemorative notes, are guaranteed by the federal government and are valid for the stated amount across Pakistan.

Both the Rs. 75 (predominantly green) banknote issued on August 14, 2022, to commemorate 75 years of Pakistani independence, and the Rs. 75 (predominantly blue) banknote issued on July 04, 2023, to mark 75 years of SBP’s inception, are legal tender throughout Pakistan, according to a statement from the central bank.
These banknotes are equally qualified to serve as a medium of exchange, that is, to satisfy both public and private debts. Additionally, the central bank stated that SBP and other commercial banks must issue and accept these banknotes from the general public.
