Cabinet Deters Appointment of CM for Master Plan Revision
Islamabad: The federal cabinet postponed the appointment of new members of the government panel entrusted with revising the master plan for the capital.

Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry stated in his post-cabinet media conference that the interior ministry had taken up the summary for appointing members of the committee and the issue of irregular housing societies.
The federal government established the commission in December 2018, and its interim report was accepted by the federal cabinet in October 2019.
The panel resolved that a professional consultant would be employed by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to conduct a thorough revision; however, for technical reasons, the consultant has not yet been hired.

The minister stated that approving housing societies without considering the issue of subsurface level will result in a water imbalance and that it is the considered opinion of Prime Minister Imran Khan that environmental considerations should be taken into account when developing such developments.
