Islamabad: According to the news on January 19, Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Syed Mohsin Naqvi and Canadian High Commissioner to Pakistan Leslie Scanlon met to discuss a number of topics of shared interest, including fighting smog in Punjab’s cities.
The planned agreement between the Punjabi government and Canada on the province’s workforce’s deployment to the Commonwealth nation was the main topic of discussion. Environmental protection measures were also discussed at the conference, with a focus on joint efforts to reduce pollution in Punjab’s cities. Scanlon considered the province government’s experimental artificial rain project in Lahore to be a good thing.

In the course of the conversation, the Canadian High Commissioner expressed hope for the Chief Minister’s impending visit to Canada, believing it would strengthen the two nations’ bilateral relations even more. In order to strengthen and improve ties, Scanlon also recommended exchanging delegations.
Chief Minister Naqvi responded by highlighting Pakistan and Canada’s longstanding good relations. Declaring that the deal will allow Punjabi youngsters to pursue job prospects in Canada for the first time, he proclaimed a historic milestone. Later this month, a delegation from the province administration is scheduled to travel to Canada for the official signing of the agreement. Chief Minister Naqvi expressed hope that this arrangement will enable Punjab’s young to make a living by moral methods.
