Capital Admin Alters Market Closing Days Once Again
Islamabad: The capital government has once again amended the schedule for when marketplaces, marakiz, and retail centres would be closed.

Since March 19, the local government has changed its plan for closing markets three times because it was unable to stop the virus from spreading. Also, a few trade unions expressed concerns about the schedule, according to officials.
On March 19, the administration issued a directive ordering all businesses in the capital to close on Saturdays and Sundays, with the exception of those providing necessary services. It modified the schedule after five days and requested that companies close on Fridays and Saturdays.

Due to the two-day closure of all commercial activity around the city, crowds of people were spotted on weekdays in marketplaces, marakiz, and malls.
On Saturday and Sunday, the safe day will be observed in all other regions and markets that were not specifically named in the notification.
