The President of the United Arab Emirates is scheduled to arrive in Pakistan tomorrow, prompting authorities to declare an official holiday in the federal capital.

According to a spokesperson for the National Assembly Secretariat, the Secretariat will remain closed on Friday. All official activities, including standing committee meetings, have been postponed. New dates for the meetings will be announced later.

Special traffic plan issued

In view of the high-profile visit, the Islamabad Traffic Police have announced a special traffic plan. Several major routes in the city will remain closed from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Traffic diversions will be in place on Islamabad Expressway and Murree Road/Kashmir Road (Club Road). Motorists traveling via the Expressway have been advised to use the Rawat to Rawalpindi–Peshawar Road as an alternative route.

Commuters accessing the Expressway from IJ Principal Road and Srinagar Highway are advised to use service roads. Citizens are also advised to allow an additional 20 to 25 minutes for travel.

Traffic police officers will be deployed at key locations to manage traffic and assist commuters during the visit.
