Capital Educational Institutions to Get a Facelift
Planning Minister Asad Umar of Islamabad has announced that expansion and renovation work on 167 educational institutions in the federal capital will shortly commence.

The minister stated, while presiding over a meeting on the Rs 6.7 billion ‘Provision of basic facilities in educational institutions of ICT’ project, that construction on the project would commence as soon as all prerequisites were met.
The minister stated that schools that would be upgraded/renovated should be included in the initiative based only on need.
PC-4 is concerned with the hiring of personnel and the approval of a budget, although in Islamabad, several institutions have been running for years without personnel and a budget. They are utilising personnel from other institutions.

According to FDE officials, the project will be conducted in phases, and the government has already budgeted Rs 409 million for it for the current fiscal year.
The ministry announced on September 2 that the federal secretary of education has approved the project director of the Project Implementation Cell of the Prime Minister’s Education Reform Programme to also serve as the project director of the aforementioned megaproject.
