Today, a thorough meeting was held under the direction of interim minister for planning, development, and special initiatives Muhammad Sami Saeed to assess the development of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects.
The Chief Economist and Head of CPEC, Dr. Nadeem Javaid, gave a thorough summary of the developments connected to these projects under CPEC. Syed Zafar Ali Shah, the secretary of planning, as well as representatives from the CPEC Secretariat and Ministry of Planning, all attended the meeting.

The minister emphasised that the pace of important development projects will be maintained under the caretaker administration. The minister reaffirmed his ardent commitment to maintaining the pace of the ongoing CPEC Projects in this regard. The minister emphasised the CPEC’s capacity for transformation and emphasised that the caretaker administration is required to maintain the acceleration of all development efforts, with CPEC receiving top priority.
In order for the development process to continue, he emphasised maintaining the existing rate of progress and asked all relevant agencies and ministries to work closely in concert. He emphasised that the CPEC will considerably accelerate regional and Pakistani growth.
He emphasised that in order to fully utilise the potential of CPEC projects, appropriate oversight measures should be integrated into the process of implementation and optimal utilization of resources.
