CDA and ICCI Collaborates on Tree Plantation in F-6 Markaz
ISLAMABAD: In the F-6 Markaz neighborhood of Islamabad, the CDA Chairman Noorul Amin Mengal, ICCI President Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari, and EPA Director General Farzana Altaf Shah started a landscaping programme.
The symbolic planting of saplings in the supermarket area marked the beginning of the project.
According to the specifics, prominent attendees at the event included Shahzad Shabbir Abbasi, the president of the F-6 Markaz Traders Welfare Association, Aqib Abbasi, Khalid Chaudhry, Saifur Rahman Khan, Akhtar Abbasi, Malik Shabbir Awan, Imtiaz Abbasi, and others.

During the visit, ongoing construction projects in the market area were also inspected.
Chairman CDA Mengal gave instructions for the start of new projects during the visit and recommended the expediting of present projects.
He stated that he would soon assess development initiatives in additional markets.
Mengal also declared that ICCI will be given control of the Zero Point Bridge so that it could be improved and beautified.
He also charged CDA’s Director of Environment with leading a cooperative plantation push in the markets in collaboration with ICCI.
Mengal additionally promised to personally visit the markets to monitor the initiative’s development.
In his remarks, ICCI President Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari emphasized the chamber’s earlier collaboration with CDA on tree planting in Islamabad.
He reaffirmed his commitment to fostering a cleaner, healthier municipal environment.

In order to secure the preservation of elder trees, Bakhtawari suggested marking them and providing special care. He also emphasised the significance of nurturing both new and existing trees.
Recognising that only a tiny portion of planted saplings typically survive, he emphasised the need for strong collaboration between market groups and CDA in order to achieve the goals of the plantation programme.
Farzana Altaf Shah, director general of the EPA, emphasised the importance of increasing tree planting to mitigate the adverse effects of climate change on cities.
She applauded ICCI’s initiatives to encourage tree planting in coordination with CDA and market groups because she thought they would help Islamabad have a healthier atmosphere.
The president of the supermarket association, Shahzad Shabbir Abbasi, vowed to support the plantation drive fully.
He also emphasized the necessity to upgrade the outdated sewage systems in the markets, pointing out their inability to cope with the expanding population and the ensuing clogs.
