CDA Cancels Plot Allotted for Hindu Temple in Islamabad
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has canceled the allotment of land in Islamabad for the construction of a Hindu temple.
The civic body’s attorney, Javed Iqbal, reportedly told the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday that the land allocation had been revoked because the federal government had prohibited the construction of new buildings in the capital’s green areas.
Prior to the aforementioned cancellation, Hindu legislators and community groups approached the Council of Islamic Ideology and concerned parties about building the temple in September 2020 in the federal capital.

Although their request was accepted at the time, the authorities have now withdrawn their approval because current protocols and land regulations restrict the construction of new buildings within the city’s green belt.
