The Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman has suspended 18 officials and employees as a result of the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) ongoing investigation regarding allegations of corruption within the CDA’s Land Department.
According to a private notification from the Deputy Director of CDA, an assistant accounts officer, senior accountant, deputy collector, and four Patwaris have been suspended. Moreover, the deputy commissioner’s office suspended two assistants, seven junior assistants, and a record keeper in an allegation of violation of the CDA Employees Regulation 1992.

According to CDA officials, the suspensions are the result of an ongoing FIA investigation into a fraudulent allotment scandal that was uncovered last year. The scandal is estimated to be worth Rs. 6.9 billion. As a result, CDA Chairman Capt. (Retd.) Anwar-ul-Haq ordered an internal investigation and instructed the FIA to investigate the matter further.
Afnan Alam and several former CDA members have been arrested in connection to the FIA inquiry. 9 CDA officers, comprising three Patwaris, an Assistant Director, and a dealing assistant, are also detained. However, eleven more officers purportedly implicated in the Land Department corruption case, along with former Director Sardar Anwar, a tehsildar, and property dealers, are still at large.
