CDA Considers Margalla Avenue City Business District
According to news reports dated May 6, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) is considering the establishment of a City Business District along the recently constructed Margalla Avenue in Islamabad. The proposed commercial center will be located in Zone 1 of the boulevard.

A member of the Planning Wing revealed that the CDA is exploring the idea of setting up a business center, and this plan was presented to the CDA board during a meeting. The reports suggest that the CDA owns a significant amount of land, approximately 1,500 to 1,000 kanals, in the specified area, primarily in Sector C-16. This area will be developed with mixed-use buildings, focusing mainly on condominiums. Furthermore, it was mentioned that the authority intends to provide apartments specifically for Pakistanis residing abroad.

To facilitate the development of the area, the authority will engage the services of a consultant. The CDA is considering hiring government-owned consulting firms exclusively for this purpose. If this proposal is approved, it will mark the establishment of the second business district in Islamabad, alongside the existing district known as Blue Area.
