Nearly 90% of the Islamabad Capital Development Authority’s (CDA) project has been completed, which entailed replacing all of the city’s streetlights with LED models and maintaining the ones already in place along its major thoroughfares, service roads, and streets. Last month, the CDA funded this project to improve street and road illumination, which should help lower local crime rates.
In a statement to APP, a CDA official emphasized the connection between the current rise in street crimes and the absence of street lights in several Islamabad neighbourhoods. Residents had voiced this issue, and the authorities responded.

The representative discussed the CDA’s more extensive initiatives to enhance urban amenities for city dwellers. Along with the lighting project, these efforts also involve fixing water-related problems that were previously disregarded and maintaining infrastructure like road carpeting.
A particular emphasis is being made on supplying civic amenities, helping home builders in these locations, and finishing development work in sectors I, G, H, and D. This complies with Chairman CDA, Capt (r) Anwar ul Haq’s instructions to guarantee thorough development and facility supply in these areas.
