Islamabad: At a facilitation center formally created by the Capital Development Authority (CDA), building designs would be approved in three days.
CDA Chairman Anwarul Haq officially launched the facility. Addressing the guests at the recent event, he said that there is a useful resource for those who need their construction plans authorized swiftly. He gave the administrators progressive instructions to build such service centers in other CDA wings.
Residential structures up to 356 yards will now cost an additional Rs20,000 in fees and take two days to get certified with all the required documentation; larger residential buildings will cost Rs30,000. Moreover, permission for commercial constructions up to 10,000 square yards would be given within three days. Furthermore, an alternative workstation has been arranged,” it said.

The service is available to company plots of various sizes. The CDA design vetting committee, led by member planning, will approve the building plans.
To speed up the approval of development designs, the CDA board approved the building of the facilitation center last month. The board allocated 48 and 72 hours to consider minor residential and commercial building projects, subject to extra costs.
Some applicants have requested early approval, which is usually not achievable for various reasons, including a high volume of applications received, a personnel shortage, and remarks made in the submitted applications.
Every board member was in favor of the center’s opening to provide residents with a fast-track facility.
Sources claim that after public complaints, the director general of Building Control and the chairman of the CDA, Faisal Naeem, decided to implement the accelerated service last month.
When contacted, the DG Building Control said that the service was up and running and that, per the CDA chairman’s orders, it would soon be extended to cover additional directorates.
Mr. Naeem continued, saying that he had given his staff orders to abide by rules and ensure that conventional construction plans would be approved within 21 days. The DG said that he would not tolerate any negligence and invited the public to lodge complaints with him in the event that building control staff employed any kind of postponement strategy.
He said, “The chairman has made it clear that no staff member of building control will be tolerated for negligence.”
