CDA Misstated Illegal Construction of Courts in F-8
Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) misrepresented the illegal court building on the grounds of the sessions courts Islamabad before the Supreme Court.

This information was provided in a written statement the Islamabad High Court’s (IHC) registrar presented to the Supreme Court in response to the high court’s April 5 judgement.
In hearing an appeal against the IHC decision to remove attorneys’ offices from a football field in F-8, a bench presided over the Chief Justice of Pakistan Gulzar Ahmed highlighted that some courts had been illegally erected on private property.
The Supreme Court, however, urged the IHC registrar to explain “why structures have not been removed/demolished” in a future hearing on April 5.

The IHC registrar appears to have disregarded the court order. The IHC registrar was also called to appear before the Supreme Court.
The CDA then carried out the directives and verified the removal of the unlawfully built courts.
According to the registrar, a compliance report has also been sent to the Supreme Court as a result of the CDA’s action.
