Islamabad: According to news reports from January 2, 2023, the federal government received a brief from the Capital Development Authority (CDA) about changes to Zone III laws in Islamabad.
This change offers the cabinet two choices: either accept the new changes made by the committee headed by the planning member of CDA or form a commission headed by a judge and assisted by a technical team. Furthermore, this commission would have to do the job in 15 days. It would be ensured that the findings are presented to the cabinet once again for approval.

The following are some of the changes that the CDA has proposed:
- Draw a line through Zone III’s ambiguous territories, which do not form Margalla Hills National Park or other designated zones.
- Keep the zones as they are and make sure the villages—which are situated on private property in the hills—are designated as model villages.
- The region that is between the F-6 and C-16 sectors ought to be included in Zone 1.
- Zone IV should include the private land on the left side of the Bhara Kahu areas.
One noteworthy development is the recent formation of a commission by the federal government to oversee Zone III.
