CDA, PCB Agree to Margalla Foothills Cricket Stadium
According to a news report on May 23, it has been announced that the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) are collaborating to build an International Cricket Stadium in Islamabad.
Shakil Shaikh, a member of the PCB management committee, held a meeting with Noorul Amin Mengal, the chairman of the CDA, at the CDA’s headquarters. During the meeting, they reached a preliminary agreement to construct an international cricket stadium near D-12, situated at the base of the Margalla Hills.

The CDA chairman informed the PCB representative that 25 acres of land have been allocated for the construction of the cricket stadium. Both parties are in the process of drafting a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which will be signed soon.
Furthermore, the responsibility of constructing the International Cricket Stadium will lie with the PCB, while the CDA will provide the land. The revenue generated from the stadium will be shared between the two entities, with a distribution ratio of 30:70, favoring the PCB.
