CDA, Privatization Commission to Hold Joint Meeting About JCC
According to news sources, the board of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) in Islamabad has decided to meet with the officials of the Privatisation Commission to discuss the privatization of the Jinnah Convention Centre (JCC). The discussion will focus on the unresolved concerns pertaining to the privatization of the 7.59-acre JCC and the causes of the process’s delay.
Sources indicate that the meeting has been organized by the city administration to discuss ongoing concerns with the sale of JCC. Upon payment of PKR 1.14 billion to CDA, the convention center located at one end of Constitutional Avenue in Islamabad was transferred to the ministry of interior.
Regarding this, the CDA also issued a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the commercial privatization of the land.

CDA postponed the amended allotment letter due to the requirement of a feasibility assessment on water availability, solid waste management plan, energy and power supply from a grid, traffic effect, and sewage treatment plant, as per the privatisation commission (STP).
In contrast, the privatization ministry claimed that, with cabinet and prime minister approval, there was no need to submit such a report. In response, the CDA stated that it has not delayed or postponed the letter’s release, and that the impending meeting will clarify the management’s position.
