CDA Pursues Rs 500 Million for Expressway Expansion
Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has made the decision to ask the federal government for Rs 500 million in funding to begin the expansion of the motorway from Koral to G.T. Road.

From Koral to G.T. Road, the highway, which is the main interprovincial road, has been clogged with traffic.
According to sources, the CDA administration decided to request Rs 500 million from the federal government to begin the road development.
According to the sources, the CDA members and Chairman Amer Ali Ahmed made the decision recently while discussing two motorway construction projects that are currently under way: the P.W.D. underpass and the enlargement of Korang Bridge.

Four construction companies responded to invites by submitting bids, according to CDA officials. CDA opened technical bids and will open financial bids in the next days to award a contract for Rs480 million for a nine-kilometer service road.
The road was extended during the PML-N administration up to Koral, and now CDA wants to begin the expansion of the remaining section from Koral to GT road. During the PTI administration, two projects were initiated: the construction of the PWD underpass and the enlargement of the Korang Bridge.
