CDA Seals 100 Car Dealerships in Islamabad Over Illegal Parking
Over 117 automobile dealerships in Islamabad have been sealed by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and the authorities due to illegal parking of vehicles in public spaces.
CDA Chairman Noor-ul-Amin Mengal recently tweeted that the agency had terminated the leases of car shops because they had failed to remove their parking spaces in accordance with regulations issued by the government a few months earlier.

The CDA ordered auto dealers to relocate their showrooms out of populated regions by April 2023. The presence of auto dealerships in G-8 Markaz, Blue Area, and other locations of Islamabad interferes with other commercial activities as well as pedestrian and traffic flow in the federal capital’s congested areas.
There was no space for customers to park their automobiles or bicycles because the showroom vehicles took up parking spaces as well. As a result, these companies are being operated unlawfully, a CDA representative informed the reporters.
The action against vehicle dealerships was ultimately launched by the municipal organisation after three months. After this procedure, the federal capital’s business districts’ traffic and parking conditions should improve.
