CDA Takes Possession of 500 Acres for Low-cost Flats
Islamabad: The federal government plans to build 4,000 affordable apartments on 50 acres that the Capital Development Authority (CDA) now owns in Farash Town.

According to sources, it is anticipated that the project being carried out by Frontier Work Organization for the Naya Pakistan Housing Development Authority (NPHDA) will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Imran Khan (FWO).
Under the protection of the assistant commissioner for rural areas, the revenue and enforcement wing teams of the CDA went to the location to take possession of the land. According to the reports, NPHDA and FWO representatives were also present.

Although CDA purchased the site in the 1970s, people were only partially using it at the time.
The authority has gave the project a PC-1 worth Rs 15 billion. According to CDA officials, the project will be finished in three years and 4,000 flats would be built in three different categories.
To cover project costs, the first category will see the construction of 1,560 flats, which will then be auctioned off. Under the second category, the NPHDA will provide 2,000 apartments to low-income individuals, while also providing 400 units to those residing in slums.
