The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is preparing to hand over possession of plots in Islamabad’s E-12 sector within the next one to two months, as development work in key areas approaches completion.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi informed the National Assembly that development in E-12/1 has already been completed on available land. Work in E-12/2 and E-12/3 is progressing rapidly and is expected to be finished within the next two months, depending on site conditions.

However, delays in some parts of the sector have been caused by illegal encroachments. The minister said that plots located in areas where land is clear and development has been completed, will be handed over first. Authorities, including the CDA, Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration, and law enforcement agencies, are actively working to remove encroachments that are slowing progress.

E-12/4 remains the most affected sub-sector, facing long-standing land disputes and illegal occupation. Development work there will begin only after the land is cleared.

Officials said the handover process will start in phases, with possession granted in developed areas within the next two months, while remaining plots will be transferred after outstanding issues are resolved.
