CDA to Progress Kahuta Industrial Area Road Network
Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has chosen to upgrade the road system in the Kahuta Triangle Industrial Area.

The CDA inaugurated the industrial area decades ago, but the road system was never properly maintained. In order to improve the road system in this industrial region, the CDA sought for bids.
According to CDA officials, the industrial area was included in the 1960 master plan for Islamabad and had a boom in the 1980s. But for years, its streets and highways have been in disrepair.
There are 350 industrial sites, according to CDA authorities, with the majority being used by businessmen.

A special economic zone would be established along the proposed eastern bypass as part of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), the CDA and Board of Investment have approved in principle.
The proposed bypass will begin at G.T. Road and end at Murree Road close to Bhara Kahu while crossing the eastern side of Capital City.
A special economic zone would be built along this route, according to CDA officials, to enhance industrial activity and generate employment possibilities in Islamabad.
