The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced a crackdown on illegal garages built outside homes across Islamabad.
According to a public notice, property owners who fail to comply will face strict legal action, including demolition of the garages at their own cost. The move is intended to protect government land and ensure safe access for pedestrians and traffic.
The CDA said many residents have encroached on public land and pathways by constructing unauthorized garages, causing traffic obstructions and reducing shared community spaces.
To tackle this, the CDA will remove all illegal garages in a phased operation. Homeowners are instructed to voluntarily dismantle any unauthorized structures within one week of the notice to avoid penalties.
