CDA to Replace Conventional Streetlights With LEDS
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has chosen in principle to hire a government-run organization to replace traditional streetlights in the federal capital with light-emitting diode (LED) lighting.
It was stated that these LED lights will be installed for 40 percent less than new LED lights. Under the terms of the agreement, 250-watt sodium streetlights will function at 150-watts, while LED lights will have a 1,000-hour warranty.
The chairman stated that the CDA also intended to implement a Global System for Mobiles (GSM)-based monitoring and control system for the automatic switching on and off of streetlights. Moreover, through a computerized system, the municipal agency will detect streetlight malfunctions on the computer screen, he noted.

Mr. Ahmed stated that his team recently shifted 25 tube wells in the Poona Faqiran region to an automated system to ensure uninterrupted water supply for the I-9 and I-10 sectors, with remarkable results.
