CDWP Refers Peshawar-Dera Ismail Motorway to ECNEC for Approval
Islamabad: According to sources in the media, the Central Development Working Party (CDWP) has suggested funding for the 360-km Peshawar-Dera Ismail Khan Motorway (PKR 27.6529 billion) and the Dir Motorway (PKR 38.991 billion).
According to the reports, both projects will ease traffic congestion and offer a fast travel option inside the area.

The CDWP meeting, headed over by Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Mohammad Jehanzeb Khan, approved two development projects totaling PKR 3.37 billion and submitted three projects to ECNEC for PKR 402.3 billion.
Projects from a range of industries, including physical planning and housing, governance, education, and transport and communication, were discussed during the meeting. Establishing Public Financial Management Unit (PFMU) and Program Support Unit (PSU) at Finance Department and Planning and Development (P&D) Board under Punjab Resources Improvement and Digital Effectiveness (PRIDE) Program is a new governance project with a budget of PKR 8.6785 billion.

Moreover, CDWP approved the “1.2 MGD R.O.D Plant,” a Physical Planning & Housing project for PKR 2.124 billion. The “Establishment of Directorate General of Religious Education” project, at PKR 1.253 billion, was another proposal for the education sector. Moreover, the authority approved a “Pandemic Response Effectiveness Project for COVID-19” for PKR 810.396 million.
