Cement dispatches in Pakistan rose by 12.53 percent in February 2026, reaching 4.199 million tons compared to 3.732 million tons in the same month last year.
According to data released by the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA), local cement dispatches stood at 3.467 million tons in February 2026, up 8.35 percent from 3.2 million tons in February 2025. Export dispatches saw a sharper rise of 37.72 percent, increasing from 531,736 tons to 732,333 tons.
North-based cement mills dispatched 2.856 million tons in February 2026, marking a 7.66 percent increase compared to the same month last year. South-based mills recorded a stronger growth of 24.50 percent, dispatching 1.34 million tons compared to 1.079 million tons in February 2025.
In the domestic market, North-based mills supplied 2.856 million tons, up 9.72 percent year-on-year. South-based mills dispatched 611,239 tons locally, a modest increase of 2.35 percent. There were no exports from North-based mills during February 2026, while exports from the South surged by 51.95 percent to 732,333 tons.
For the first eight months of the current fiscal year (July 2025–February 2026), total cement dispatches reached 34.798 million tons, up 10.86 percent from 31.388 million tons in the same period last year. Domestic dispatches during this period increased by 11.93 percent to 28.503 million tons, while exports rose by 6.27 percent to 6.295 million tons.
North-based mills recorded domestic dispatches of 23.745 million tons during the eight-month period, a 13.15 percent increase. However, their exports declined by 27.07 percent to 803,306 tons. Overall, total dispatches by North-based mills rose 11.15 percent to 24.548 million tons.
South-based mills dispatched 4.758 million tons domestically during the same period, up 6.21 percent. Their exports grew by 13.89 percent to 5.491 million tons. Total dispatches from the South increased by 10.19 percent to 10.250 million tons.
An APCMA spokesperson said the upcoming budget should introduce incentives to support the cement sector, boost demand, and make cement more affordable. He added that such measures would help the industry utilize idle production capacity and achieve better economies of scale.
