Changa Manga Jungle to Be Walled by Punjab Govt
According to sources, the Punjab government decided on January 18 to erect a 38-kilometer-long perimeter wall around the man-made Changa Manga Jungle in Lahore. The government has initially allocated PKR 250 million for the project.

In order to prevent tree cutting and improve the infrastructure, the project will be completed in two phases. In the current fiscal year, a 20-kilometer-long boundary wall will be constructed, followed by an 18-kilometer-long wall in the second phase.
According to Rna Shahid Tabassum, the District Forest Officer, the border wall would be at least 8 feet tall and barbed wired to prevent illicit activities like as trespassing and timber theft. For your information, the Changa Manga Forest was established in 1866 by a British forester. It encompasses a total area of 12,510 acres.
